For those who want to discover the typical tastes and dishes of the island, our advice is to indulge in the suggements of the Procidans who are always very kind and helpful in recommending the typical products of their land.
The sea supplies fresh fish almost every day, providing one of the main ingredients of the local cuisine with simple and good dishes typical of popular cultures.
Then indulge in a fresh and tasty salad of lemons, a typical product with a thick white and spongy peel, the medium to large sized fruit is also called ‘bread lemons’ with its intense fragrance and pleasantly acidic juice.

After the salad, another dish with a distinctly seafood taste is spaghetti with sea urchins,
but beware, it is not for everyone, it takes young and strong, rough and sensitive palates.
As a second seafood dish, the choice would fall on a good stuffed squid, while on the land side, the delicious Coniglio (rabbit) alla Procidana, very similar to rabbit all’ischitana, prepared mainly with garlic, oil, tomatoes and wine.
The dessert, of course, accompanied by a good Procida limoncello is undoubtedly the Lingua, an elongated oval-shaped wrapper made of puff pastry, filled with custard or lemon cream and sprinkled with caster sugar on top.
